Create a purchase order

A foundation example article. The real version will explain how to record what you are about to order from a supplier.

Foundation example. This page proves the article layout, navigation and search. It is not final NORTHMAST documentation and will be replaced.

Purpose of this page

This is a foundation example in the Purchasing area, under Purchase orders. Together with “Receive a purchase order” it proves that two subcategories of the same area appear as separate groups in the side navigation, and that explicit related links work.

It deliberately contains no NORTHMAST product instructions.

What the final article will cover

  • What you need before you can create a purchase order.
  • Filling in the order and adding products.
  • What a draft means, and what changes when you mark it as ordered.

Example of a code span

Field labels appear in the text exactly as shown on screen, for example Expected delivery, so a merchant can match the article to the interface word for word.

If something is unavailable

The final article ends with what to check when the usual action cannot be taken, and links to the matching “Why can’t I…” article.
